DOST, new serial on ARY

Re: ...Dost on ARY...

LOL @ Rukhsarbibi's synopsis of 'Dost'.

It started off well till it was in Karachi (ie. the story). All of a sudden it has become a retarded drama and has left the viewers wondering whether it'll even turn into a decent drama or not.

Last night's episode was totally ghatya. Faisal, the larki from Khi, and Farah Shah lying on the grass playing antakshri. I think we get the idea. Why must they spend 5-10 minutes showing them play antakshri.

Oh and prior to that they spent good 5-10 minutes playing badminton.

I must say I'm quite disappointed. I just hope it turns into a decent drama as it progresses.

Ajeeb ghatya aur chichora drama lag raha hai abhee tak (ie. the KL part)

Re: …Dost on ARY…

Shuker karoo they dont play cricket, test cricket

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

Okay, okay..I admit there were certain things that didn't make much sense. (the badminton and the antakshari was annoying. It would have been okay for maybe 2 minutes but 10-15 is unacceptably boring and unnecessary!) However I think a lot of people would admit that often the dramas on ARY aren't exactly "honestly representation" of the majority of Pakistani culture/society. So you have to watch this drama with a grain of salt. Remember it is ARY and although sometimes the story lines may to some be considered "way too modern" or something---you have to understand the source. Knowing and understanding that I think this drama fits well with most of the other dramas (past and present) on ARY. I am disappointed at the pace of the drama (I wish things would just pick up and let there me more content instead of scenery of Malaysia) but until then I just really hope that the drama gets better in later episodes.

Also I have to agree with Suhaib--Just because the name is Dost does NOT mean that it's like "Friends". It's not like "Friends" at all...believe me.

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

This drama has turned into a disappointment. I just hope it gets better. This is probably the only drama on ARY right now that has a good cast. The other two (with Sadia Imaam and Humayun Saeed) good dramas would probably resume after ramadan, as taraweeh is on during that time.

Decent6chora, please don't give them any ideas.

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

well that is normally, playing badminton/antaksari for 5 minutes, its happened in many dramas, in tons of dramas they show dholkis playing for 10 minutes and people singing at weddings, in ana they even showed a whole song of devdas with some chick. its normal and happens in all dramas.

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

It only happens in CHEAP and WRITER-DONT-KNOW-WHAT-TO-WRITE kind of dramas where director and writer both dont have any clue of what to wirte next and all they want to do is increase the EPISODES of the darama! Recent examples of such cheap dramas are “Jo Baat Ghar Main Hai” , “Safiad Posh” (in which JANAZA spanned on some 4 episodes and MEHNDI on 5/6 episodes) etc

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

I didn't understand the whole Kuch Kuch Hota hai touch in the Antakshari scene :-s And they have given poor Robina Ashraf such a bad hairdo! Is that a wig on her head? They tried to copy the Haseena Moin style of drama making with the girl throwing a pail of water on her to-be boyfriend.

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

I think I need a whole truck of salt :-p

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

maybe the weddings and antakshri bit, but not the badminton scene, that happens to fasten the drama up, things like that appear in hollywood productions too.

instead of wasting 30 minutes showing the whole thing (like what bollywood does) they just get the boring bits out the way in talking, so if your listening youll understand, they were talking about there childhood memories and what happened, if it was a indian film they would have wasted 30 minutes showing dumb flashbacks.

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

So because Indian films use the flashback method, its dumb?

The whole badminton scene was quite silly and didn't it for so long.

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

its dumb cos it slows down the pace and wastes time not cos its used in indian films.

Re: DOST, new serial on ARY

Didn't like it. The ending was way too predictable and ended in a weird way.
