People get paranoid. I mean…they get all suspicious and start reading things into what you say and do.
Frankly speaking it’s probably a condition that deserves our pity but when you’re short on patience to begin with it’s hard to take.

Yes.. so true. Some of my uncles and aunts get (when we visit Pakistan) on my nerves and read into every little word or gesture. The way I deal with it is to start speaking in Spanish or Greek with my wife and they get the message. I actually curse them in Greek (that’s the only way I know). But Muzna it is so true no matter how sorry you may feel for them, it still always is annoying and sometimes very hurtful. It is more hurtful when those annoying ones are the ones you love and care about, and not so hurtful when this behavior is exhibited by someone you don’t have to see or live with.
Yeah. I wish everybody would mind their own biznez

NYAhmadi,
So true. They read things into what you say and do simply because they have a preconceived notion in their head and are inclined to view things with "I'm the most important person in the world and it could only be about me-glasses". Again, it's deserving of our pity.
I wonder what can be done to help them decrease their sense of guilt. Perhaps some counselling and reassurance would help. But then again....in order to get help they have to admit that they need it.
Right?
