Don't you find it weird when....

you see a family in which either mother or father or both can’t speak English at all/very well but their kids speak nothing but English :konfused:?

What about the kids who were in their teens when they emigrated from Pakistan to an overseas country and "forgot"Urdu in 3-4 years?

How often do you come across such families/kids? What comes to mind when you do?

I move around in these kind of families , my wife is not very conversant in English so the kids talk to her in toti photi Urdu, they talk to each other in English. I talk to them in English. Kids of a friend cannot speak Urdu at all they are Muslims from Kerala , but these kids also understand whatever we say to them in Urdu. I think Urdu is Jannat key zuban and the kids learn it there before coming to this world.:)

Re: Don’t you find it weird when…
