Shrimp Rice Recipe:

*use proportion as like
i used good amount of shrimp and twice the amount of vegetables

shrimp **(i get the "cooked and ready to eat" bag)
**vegetables
= mushrooms *( med. sliced)
*carrots
= the long stick shredded type
green chillies= *(hari mirch) thinly sliced
pea pods = preference
*onion
= cut in med/small squares
scallions= do half scallions and half reg. onion OR just reg. onion
rice

  1. wash shrimp with cold water and peel of tail ~ set aside
    warm little bit of olive oil in a large skillet and add the shrimps.
    shrimp will start to release some water; stir and let the shrimp get the slight brown/pink color THEN ADD little bit of reg. salt and a pinch of chinese salt if u have.
    DON'T over cook the shrimp or they'll become hard and rubbery. So take them out in a plate after a few minutes of good stiring.

  2. In the same skillet add a little bit of olive oil and let it heat
    Add all your vegetables **and after a few stirs ADD **ground black pepper, low sodium soy sauce( by andaaza) u don't want to use tooo little of soysauce otherwise the rice won't get the flavor. Pinch of salt. Add little bit of crush pepper if you want your's spicy. But the hari mirch should be enuff.

    cook for few minutes/don't over cook and take out in plate and set aside.

  3. in the same skillet:) ** add** water for your rice --for 2 cups rice=4 cups of water. turn the heat on med/high. cover the skillet. wait for the water to boil. add your pre washed rice and wait for the water to bubble. lower **the heat to med/low and cover the lid. **check from time to time and give the rice a stir
    and let it cook all the way.
    4.** AFTER** cooked. Add your vege and shrimp in the rice and give it a good light stir without breaking the rice.

    the color comes from the cooking of soysauce and oliveoil when cooking the vege.
    also a side sauce (chilli sauce) goes well
