Don't let people ridicule Hajj regarding death incidents

Peace All

People at work try to make it seem that the Hajj is some horrible ritual and the media in general in the West try their hardest to diminish the interest by focussing on the amounts of deaths that take place due to certain incidents. I believe to move 3 million people around is an amazing task that the Saudi government do well - they have crowd engineers that plan whole projects on this every year.

Ok … so here is the low down … The deaths as a result of incidents is Alhumdulillah never more than 2000 … which is serious because we should try for no deaths and people themselves are often to blame … But here is the context …

There are over 6.94 billion people in the world. Out of this amount 94 people per minute die … that means 1.353 x 10^-4% of people in a given population die per minute.

Now the population of Hajj is 3,000,000 and the amount of minutes the average Hajji stays in that region is 10 days x 24 hours x 60 minutes = 14,400 minutes.

This is 3,000,000 x 14,400 x 1.353 x 10^-4 = approx 36,000 deaths.

So according to the global death rate for 3,000,000 living 10 days an amount of 36,000 should die anyway … Most likely the people who die from natural causes in Hajj will far out number the incidents … and collectively I don’t believe more than 10 - 20 thousand people die whilst on Hajj. The majority of them are people fit enough to do the Hajj.

My point being that death comes to us anyway … It does count how that death arrives and we should be engrossed in 'ibadat not pushing and shoving and then I consider it a blessed way to go - in the sacred land.
