Don't come to UK for Bachelors degree!!!

Re: Don't come to UK for Bachelors degree!!!

I have read this string with interest and i must say sou161 you are way out of touch with the feelings of whose countyry it is us over here in the UK.

I am a Brit paki - second generation working class - born brought up lived lived worked and paid taxes in this country for the last 25 years . im 40 years old I have a good business stable and happy family - i have a decent life....

READ MY LIPS - we do not want illegal people in our country or those whose say they will study but dont - that, as someone said earlier is the vast majority of them.

I have many family memebers and friends who come to this country on the pretext of study - do they study - NO.

To look at your words in your last post -
I am english first , not pakistani but my skin color is brown - I will still choose a 'white' man everyday over you.

'abruptly' and no'perspective' - you dont have to live here and put up with the bad press we minorities get becuase of the actions of a few - pakistanis are renowned for milking the system, commiting fraud and illegally taking advantage of our resources.

'plan your lives' in your own country.

I was one of the many who voted with our feet and elected our MP's to tighten immigration control and stop pseudo-students from enetreing our country..

HAVE YOU GOT THE MESSAGE??? STAY AWAY.

Of course you are welcome if ( like 2 of my cousins ) you applied to a university in the UK after recieving good grades in a Pak university, enetered the countyry legitimately, worked part-time for upto 20 hrs per week to supplenet your income whilst studying ( as you are legally allowed to do ) , studied hard, passed your exams, applied for a job, became good at that job, applied for a work permit through the firm, submitted application legally, and got accepted to stay in the country through a valid work permit - then of course you are welcome to stay.

But if you are coming on the pretext of studying and then dont study, and find work illegally in a restarant or shop or in a factory, and overstay your welcome or break the law in any other way, I will be one of the ones you should watch out for because I will be calling the Home office first to get you deported.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED PSEUDO-STUDENTS....

not that i'd put it all in quite those words but...

to the bolded bits. exactly. we are talking from experience. many distant relatives/people we know have come over to study here using the degree to build up their years in the UK and try to get a work visa. i have little sympathy for them if it doesn't work out. what they are doing is not legitimate and carries a lot of risk, it's not something you can 'plan your life' with.

on the flip side, in the last two years there have been a number of engineers we know, in their 20's, having finished their degrees from the some of the best college's/unis in pakistan, come here for highly paid jobs. they had no problems being granted their work visas once the job was secured.

Re: Don't come to UK for Bachelors degree!!!

Man I am not interested in these psudo students! I will be happy if these guys get deported asap. My post is regarding the legall students who do work hard in studies and part time.

I still feel they are treated unfairly that a new law suddenly appears and shuts the door on their legitimate career prospects.

How will you soo called British pakis feel if they suddenly said, emm no government jobs for couloured people! Will you not be outraged?

Sure you will because when u got ur red passport it said that you are eligible to work freely and then suddenly you wont be! Would you not feel cheated and treated unfairly?

Irony!! Coz now non-EEA nationals are not allowed the visa even if they graduate from the best universities in the UK!!

i don't know what you are on. please read the links you posted, HIGHLY SKILLED WORKERS ARE ALLOWED hence the engineers who have masters degrees.

Re: Don’t come to UK for Bachelors degree!!!

Recent Changes to Tier 1 (Post Study Work) Visa — University of Leicester
Points Based System Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) (INF 25)

Here. As far as I can read the 2-year post study work visa still exists.

Re: Don't come to UK for Bachelors degree!!!

Yes only masters degree are allowed. 2 months ago bachelors degrees were allowd as well but not now!

God knows if they will even stop master degree holders to work here?! Hence my efforts of letting youngs students from anywhere to think twice before investing time and money in the UK.

you are going to make my head explode.

see that uni of Leicester link? it says this in regards to the changes:

  • You will be able to apply only if you already have post-study work immigration permission and you want to extend for an extra year, or if you have obtained one of the following qualifications in the UK:

[LIST]
[LIST]
- UK degree
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
- HND, but only if you studied in Scotland

Re: Don't come to UK for Bachelors degree!!!

guys you are so vexed about this....

sou - are you jealous of the red passport?? sound like it

and we are not so called Brit paks... we are british citizens first and foremost.... they cant do what you are suggesting..... UK may not be likeable to some but it is still a cotry driven by its laws which are largely fair and open...

unlike some countries i can think of where there are little comforts for any humans regardless of colour or creed....

in my job i bring over to the uk legitimate individuals who are needed by this country under HSMP rules ... architects engineers etc....
all legel and above board....

Re: Don’t come to UK for Bachelors degree!!!

At last some British guys are speaking up against these unfair changes. Hope other people from different fields also raise their voice in favour of the poor students!
