I need your help, guppies! I want to give away old shalwar kameez…does anyone know of a place in the U.S. or in Pakistan where I could mail boxes of clothing for the needy? It would be better to do that rather than just toss them in the trash…

hmmmm well not aware how it works in US but here in UAE we get camps like for Palestine, Somalia, Swat ppl or Red Crescent etc. So , I personally, drop my clothes n shoes, which i do not need any more, to them and thats it.

lol well whenever i want to give away clothes shoes and jewelery etc i never have to do much......because here in pakistan poor girls normally come to your home asking if there is anything spare to give to them.........
and there you go.....
i do this all the time.......like around eid ....or when somebody needs them
that way i get rid of the stuff and they are happy too :)
PS make sure you are not giving away any brand new stuff LMAO i did that the last time.......gave away my brand new shirt that i didnot wear even once khekhekhe but khair...doesnt matter :)

Check at your loacal mosque, they're normally affiliated with a pakistani charity of some sort. If that doesn't work, just save them till your next trip to Pakistan. That's what I always do. We normally give them to our maid and cook, and then they share them amongst their families. and you're right, throwing them away is such a shame.
Fasaadi, my father runs a girls orphanage in Pakistan.. if u find a place to send the clothes to in the US great.. and if u need the address I can PM u.
the Edhi Center in Corona, NY accepts clothing donations. but the clothes have to be in good condition and must be 3 pc outfits. some local mosques also accept such donations.

The masjid here in Miami,FL accepts clothes. I work there during the weekend school and a group of the youth involved in the mosque take the clothes and send them to the earthquake sites or to people who really need them around town. Please let me know if you need the address! I myself and some of my students leave our clothes and old shoes with them. Its really nice knowing that theres someone out there who would be able to use our things.
