Donating Post Bridal Clothes?

I know that this is not the right place to post this topic, but for some reason, felt that it may not particularly fit well in the bridal section either?

I was looking to donate some heavy desi wear, which some have only been wore for a couple hours or never at all. I’m currently based in Dubai, and was wondering if there was anything here that would take them in. I know Eidhi does accept bridal stuff in Pakistan, but am not sure about here? I’d really appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this!

Thanks

Could you sell those clothes and donate proceeds to a charity if your neeyat is that the clothes go to charity

Re: Donating Post Bridal Clothes?

Or ask the social welfare centre or womens shelter...they have girls and women from all nations and are in need of clothing for social events or if a girl is getting married etc...

Thats what i used to do when i was living in arabia...

Re: Donating Post Bridal Clothes?

Can you send them to Pakistan...??
I have given some stuff to the SOS villages in Lahore.I know they have locations in other cities as well. They are always in need of stuff like this so that it can help when they get the girls married off.

Donating Post Bridal Clothes?

I think selling them here and donating the proceeds to charity is a great idea. Why dont you post some pictures and see whether you get some interest?

Re: Donating Post Bridal Clothes?

Try to send them to Pakistan. Ive sent alot of my old formal clothes that were still in brand new condition to an orphanage in Islamabad, they resize them and give them to the girls in their jahez when they get married. Its amazing to see how something that was just sitting in the back of your closet or in a suitcase for so long and you never gave another thought to it, can bring so much joy and excitement to another girl who couldnt have dreamed of affording such clothes otherwise. Really advise everyone to donate their previously worn clothes that are still in excellent condition, there are soo many people in need

Re: Donating Post Bridal Clothes?

For those who dont have anyone going regularly to PK to take their clothes, CharmedOne mentions a service here that you can use to ship your clothes there
