As far as power dynamics go, someone told me no 2 flames can burn with the same intensity indefinitely. One will usually be consumed by the other. That said, common sense tells me the more compatible a man and woman are mentally, the closer you naturally get to a 50/50 relationship. No one can be dominating ALL the time, just as no one can be subordinate ALL the time (barring Saudi couples and codependent issues). In a thriving relationship, both parties inevitably take turns playing the roles of dominant + subordinate. Take dancing for example - the man usually leads, but you're also mirroring each other/taking non-verbal cues from one another. Much can be said about the dance of marriage, but I can get really corny ... and I have no personal experience with any of this.
