Quite familiar saying in east and result we know torture on women and denial of rights. examples are unlimited from rape to denial f voting rights by so called political liberal parties in association of sada ke badnaam Mullas.
My perception for west was different. I thought independent women in west is not subject to this torture and denial of rights, till I read somewhere that America is no.1 in domestic violence. The victims of violence include

I think he wanted to say that western woman is more mazloom than eastern counter part, as she has taken up additional responsibilities in the name of independence.
In the old days, they would say aap karein. Nowadays, inhoney vyakaran ko kuchal kuchal ke maar diya. It is totally acceptable and common to hear people say -" aap aisa karo..."
Aap with karo is like rubbing nail on chalkboard.
