What kind of domestic cricket structure you folks have in Pakistan ? I remember some time back when Imran was still playing, He mentioned in an Interview that Pakistan didn’t have any proper Domestic structure. Is that true ?

It is 100% true, and still is.
Pakistan may have the worst domestic cricket system amoung test playing nations, slightly better than Bangladesh I hope.
all the teams are owned by government companies like Pakistan Airlines, Habib Bank etc. Instead of teams representing a region, they represent different companies, everything from local stadiums to the tournament formats are really poor.
But it really goes to show you the talent of the cricketers regardless of poor domestic backgound, they most of the time out class players from other countries.
Well, There is no doubt about the Natural Talent Pakistan has in Cricket and Hockey and that is the reason they have been so succesfull in these two games.
So all these Corporate Teams like PIA or Habib Bank ( I think Wasim Akram used to Play for them), how do they compete ? Do you have any tournament like PURA CUP (Australia) or RANJI TROPHY (In India) etc ?

Yeah Pakistan has a big tournament every summer called Qaid-e-Azam Trophy. All the teams compete for that trophy. Teams like Lahore club, PIA, Banks, Karachi club and so on from all over Pak. Karachi Whites lifted the 2002 trophy.

Personally I hate the Domestic scene of Pakistan.. it's shameful. Yet the Final of the National One Day Tournament between PIA (includes captain Moin Khan, Wasim, Saqlain, Azhar and Abdur) against Habib Bank (Waqar, Youhana, capt. Ijaz Ahmed). Would have been a thrill to watch.
I don't know why Pakistan's not making a effort to FIX the problem. Who the hell wants to see a bank vs. a water treatment plant?
Show me the flavor of two Karachi teams, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar, etc. This way, more money would come to the PCB, with more spectators, and have players sign contracts, and trades, etc.
Imagine Waqar Younis representing Hydrabad, or Saeed Anwar for Multan with Inzi facing a Wasim in Lahore.. anything could happen.
Players would take more passion and enthusiasm towards the domestic season, with banks, airlines, sponsering the city (on the shirt and boards in the ground).
Also the sceduale of the season should adapt to the International sceduale of Pakistan. Thus, giving players to play in the heart of the tournament.
Other considerations could be a 25 over games. Flood Lights on many of the games.
Any other suggestions?
