Domestic Chores are theraputic.

Re: Domestic Chores are theraputic.

yes its true........ but the therapeutic effect doesn't kick in until you are done with cleaning and then you feel really good and relaxed, etc......the process of cleaning itself is a whole different story

Re: Domestic Chores are theraputic.

Except cleaning and cooking is not anyone's life unless you're a maid. Therefore, as it transcends gender, the tranquility of cleaning and cooking should be enjoyed by all.

And I'm not being a jerk when I say this. I'm very serious. All the folks here testify to how peaceful and calming it is to do some housework. You know why? Because its easy and repetetive. It's one thing you know that you probably will not screw up. You know that by the time you're done cleaning that tub it WILL be white, it WILL sparkle, and the mildew WILL be gone. So it is guaranteed success. Which makes anyone feel good.

The only reason why men don't partake in these activities is because a lot of your amma's and abba's thought it would feminize you, and did not raise you with any chores. So, you totally don't conceive of how awesome it is to clean a bathtub and feel GOOD and CLEAN at the end of the day from it.

I find cooking/baking theraputic:hula: helps me relax and put all that energy to some good use.

There’s other kinds of therapy

I agree, and come to think of it- all household chores are calming. On the other hand, I HAVE to have a clean room otherwise I can't concentrate so it can also drain quite some time.
