Domain name registered under my fake name

Hi,

I just got a domain name renewal application for a certain domain. I never registered that domain, so I did a whois. And sure enough all my info was in the contact fields, including my home address, home phone etc. The domain was registered at registerfly.com so I called them up. The customer service dude who picked up heard all I had to say and changed all the info so my name was gone.

I wish I had a done a domain transfer, but now i can’t do anything. The new registrant yahoo ID is goodbooksonline@yahoo. Does anyone think I should be concerned? I don’t know if I should follow it up. Maybe there’s tons of other out there registered under my name. How do I find info on domains if they are registered like that? This is so bizarre!

Re: Domain name registered under my fake name

was your home previously occupied by someone else perhaps ?

Otherwise your information online is something to be concerned about...

Re: Domain name registered under my fake name

by the way, do a google search for goodbooksonline, there's quiet a few results with that email posted in forums, might wanna do your research.
This is indeed bizare, if i were you i`d try to look deeper into this, who's this guy, how did he have your information...

Re: Domain name registered under my fake name

I've been searching, but i'm more concerned with how the registerfly guy was so nonchalant and put this new info in there.

Re: Domain name registered under my fake name

Re: Domain name registered under my fake name

Tofi, PM me the domain name. Let me do my investigation. Ive done business with registerfly.com.

Read the TOS at registerfly.com
Falsifying the contact info (actually stealing someone’s ID) should be enough to cancel the domain.
