Go grab a Klipsch ProMedia 5.1…pure ecstacy of 500 watt punch! ![]()
dunno how much it’s worth in Euros..approx 400 USD.
Gizzy and Khanzada:D It seems u both are verry rich ![]()
But me izz not
and my budget is 120 Euro aprox.
Besides that i m not an audiofiel ![]()
And yess Gizzy am going to HCC this sunday
^–lol…no me neither shows him his empty pockets :bummer:
what if i tell you i have the exact system in mind for ya given yer budget constraints? :smokin:
Go grab Logitech Z-560. It packs 400 watts of solid power. It’s dubbed as the best 4.1 system that money can buy sub US$200 (can get it for US$150 as well if you shop a lil)-it’s rated ahead of Klipsch ProMedia 4.1-that was once the trendsetter.
What else you want…the sub woofer is exceptional i am telling ya…go get it ![]()
Good luck,
I am just curious, why do you guys spend so much money for sound system for computer?
I mean, I'd rather spend this amount for sound system for my music and television (commonly called Entertainment Centre). Wouldn't it make more sense to buy 5-disk CD changer with Receiver and sub-woofer and speakers. Do you guys use your computers as the primary device to listen to music or watch TV?
The sound system in my computer is only used for Voice chat and occassional computer beeps. I'd rather use a recliner and a proper music system to listen to music, rather than sitting on a computer chair to listen to music on my computer. If its used to enhance gaming sounds then I probably can understand. :)

Acha.. so you guys actually have two sound systems? One with the computer and the other with the so-called Entertainment Center (i.e. TV, DVD/CD, Receiver bla bla). I see. :)
^ Yes, coz I am mostly sitting in front of the PC.. :~)
Gizzy,
Do send me a pic of your work station, if you don't mind? :)
I have one sub-woofer and two speakers from Altec Lansing attached to my computer, and I couldn't figure out where to put them. Maybe one of the days when I get a monitor with a smaller foot-print, I may also consider such elaborate equipment.
So, most of you with such fantastic sound systems attached to your computers, use it to listen to music???
it's essential to have a great sound system if u're playing games.. I have my Delta Audiophile send bitstream to my receiver where it's decoded and fed to my surround system. for voice chat the small JBL ones work just fine.

Sure, i'll have to make one first.. =)
Faisal,
I for one use my PC as the primary music device (and occasionally for games). I don't see no reason why a good sound system (and a good sound card even before that) can't rival it's conventional rival that sits pretty at the other end of the room.
As for reclining and all, please note that these are surround sound systems aka you don't need to be positioned in front of yer pc all the time to experience rich surroud sound...they deliver what they promise-all across the room.
Hope it helps, :~)

I am sure its a great sound system, I am just contemplating whether it makes more sense to invest in a good sound system for the computer OR to get a surround sound entertainment system which attaches to my TV and DVD Player. Because, if I am just in the mood to listen to music, I personally don't want to start-up the computer and pop-in the CD and relax back. Plus attaching the sound system to my TV will allow me to enjoy the sound effects of the movies on DVD. For practical reasons, I don't attach my computer CPU to the television, and have standalone DVD player & VCR.
At this point, I won't be buying BOTH for the computer and for the TV, so its basically a question of which investment makes more sense i.e. bang for the buck, so to speak.
ps. I don't play games, so its a moot point for me. My kids are probably ok with Altec Lansing sub-woof cz most of their games are educational so they only wanna hear the character speak up and the assorted music accompanying it.
