baalaa does not necessarily mean "Sar" ... it means "Heights"
so, now translate it again and then we shall see if it makes sense.

See anwaar bahi, Ishq wo jadoo hai jo sur charh kur bolta hai. Bara bankvi said that Ishq wo zaalim hai jis ka bol-balaa hai. I was just putting two and two together

interesting to know that zaalim kaa bol baalaa hai...
yes and why call rikabis plates...sheesh, or katoras bowls. so embarssing to see ppl moving away from national language. but bhai is bhai..behen is sister...kyun?
btw I still call rose bowl as katora-e-gulab
lol i am glad to hear somone knows what rikaabi is. Lot of people have no idea..and they don't use it or rather ashamed of using it.
in our house, we always use word "Hamaam" for bathroom and bawarchi-khana for kitchen. My bed is called Bistarr, and closet is called Almari.
Bartan, katora, pateela, namak dani, etc etc.....Urdu has such beautiful words..but unfortunately most people in this world have decided to make this language obsolete.
^
Hammaam, in its literal and actual historical connotation, is different than Ghus'L khanaa.. are you sure, you have a hammaam inside your home?
I know what Hamaam is...and no we do not have hamam in our house :)
but to avoid using words washroom/bathroom or using long term words like ghusal khana....we prefer using hamaam...it is much simpler.

In my understanding Bawarchi Khana is longer than Ghus'L khana... (I am not comparing the physical aspect of the two Khanas or rooms) so is there any short term we can use for Kitchen...?
