Good logic…my questions would be " Can I Drink too? I will drink not for the purpose of disobeying God but just to socialize with my friends? I will not harm anybody and will still be a good muslim..I promise! I do not worship pigs…they look so cute to me and Ham burger smells so yummy…can I eat them when I am hungry? (I am not eating them to express the purpose of worship or to displease God but just to fill my tummy)? Similar justifications could be made for every other impermissibles
In response to the sketching, drawing, sculpting ,taking pictures of humans and animals on the day of qiamah one would be asked to give life to those things.
They ask you, [O Muhammad], what has been made lawful for them. Say, “Lawful for you are [all] good foods and [game caught by] what you have trained of hunting animals which you train as Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah upon it, and fear Allah .” Indeed, Allah is swift in account.
(5:4 quran)
In winter we slept upstairs, one day I went running in the morning, forgot to close the door behind me.
Dog went upstairs. When I came back he was up stairs so happy.
He was going one room to another checking family there, and so happy to see them at his own will. Rahter then we going down stairs and passing by him.
Actually, I am thankful to you for posting the hadees because prior to reading that, I did not know that keeping a pet dog and keeping miniatures of animals come under the same category.
I love dogs (Actually, I also love horses, lions, elephants, etc.) but everytime I told my parents I wanted to get one, they told me “The angels wont come to our house”. But now I can tell them if they’re so worried about the angels, they also need to throw away all the pictures and toy animals made up of metal, marble, crystals which they love to decor their house with. Because Im sure even they dont know both are the same as per Islam.
Actually, I was thinking of emailing this hadees to my father but now I would not because after reading this thread, I have dropped the idea of getting a pet dog.
A very smart approach …I would have done the same. No point in conditional with drawl…and arguing with parents caz in any case two wrongs do not make one right. A good deed ( compliance /adherence to Islam) should be unconditional and not linked to weakness of others. For instance if I start saying " O…I will only pray if my father go and perform hajj this year…Haj no doubt is obligatory but imposing such conditions are not so smart.
