they have some in chicago all am and noone listens to them. in dallas they have a lot but the famous ones are salam namaste fm ad funasia am. I like Azaad's show on funasia am. his topic and his intelligence and his voice are all superb. you guys should listen to it if they have it on the internet.

What are desi (Pak and India) radio stations like? Are the ads professional? Here, the desi radios go like this: song --> ad about mortgage --> ad about desi grocery --> ad about tax preparation/CPA --> ad about immigration --> ad about "fantastic business opportunity" --> ad about real estate agent --> ad about upcoming show --> song.

oh please, he is the only desi rj I've known in usa that has a mature topics! he is far from the definition of drama queen. You might be saying that cause you have not come across a sincere rj for a while I guess... I think he talks close to reality. . . but then I'm just talking out of my opinion .

The Pakistani station promotes Pakistani events, gatherings/concerts etc. The Indian ads are ugh! Lulu hypemarket, deo’s, shop n save, Rasasi perfumes, Lipton etc.. and uff the jingles!

The pind I live in has no desi radio. Having said that, I don't listen to radio either so it doesn't make a tinny bit of difference.

BBC have an Asian radio station, theres loads in the U.K. Asian Star, Club Asia, Kismet Radio to name a few.
theres one in chicago, mujahid ghazi hosts a segment thats worth listening to.. i got to know about it because I won some trivia question he asked at a desi concert and he gave his card to me and i later found out alot of my friends volunteer and speak on his show.
i was in london back in the mid nineties when they started this desi channel called sunrise radio. that was pretty good back then.

o reali what radio station is it? I heard of sargam radio and chilli spice and they did announce in texas that funasia will be in chicago as well but not sure.

I remember that jingle from our time in Austria. We used to get Sunrise Radio through our cable operator.
