Does Variety spices up ur life?

Aslkm ya’ll!

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

Long time 'gain no see. But hey here’s one for today.

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smile.gif

I usually go with my friend to the campus café to have coffee and cookies in our break between classes. Some days we just have to intake the bitterest coffees to keep us alive and on our toes to keep up with the fast pace courses. Every time, we prefer to eat the similar cookies that we always do. She goes for chocolate bits oatmeal, and I go for the raisin oatmeal. Her’s are always too sweet, and she always ends up complaining. Mine are just right, balanced, and love ‘em! Although I disliked raisin, but developed a taste for it from then on. Although there’s a vast variety we can choose from, but today the café had a new kind added to their batch. Chocolate, coconut crumbs. Looked yummy, but both of us hesitated to pick it up. Another classmate joined us, and said hey try ‘em, they’re moist, chewy, not too sweet, just about right. So we did! Well, well! I didn’t like ‘em, cuz I dislike stuff with coconut. But thought, it wudn’t hurt for a change.
We ended up in a discussion of how variety could add a touch of spice to life, and keep things interactive, alive and outstanding. The small coffee talk took a very perceptive curve. In the end my friend topped off the topic with saying… “Yes, variety makes life worth while except cheating.” Classmate asked how, she responded, “cheating your loved ones," abusing your personal freedom by going after others when our cherished ones are not there at the moment. Though it was irrelevant to what we were talking about, however I liked what she said. She made sense. For she set a limit, a finite touch to the infinity that lies in variety.

Now enough of background details.

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/rolleyes.gif

Here’s what I want to know what you all think of.
We always like to have a broad spectrum when it comes to choosing or picking things according to our taste, style, choice etc. I’ve discovered, that I would always go for something that I have relied on in past, and know it well enough in greater depth. Even while choosing outfits, when it comes to colours, I’d stick with the basics, which I feel comfortable wearing. I’d always go for navies, black, greys, soft earth tones, fall colours, deep dark natural colours; except anything outrageously radiant, and outstanding! Red, yellow, or Orange for instance I avoid big times. Not just in colors, but even music. My friend, she’d put on loud, screaming music on.. though they are nice but eeek I can’t stand it. Last time my cousin was just drooling over Crash and Burn By Savage Garden. When she shared the words with me, I liked ‘em, but when I heard it, I ran as faaaar away from the playing stereo.

I like light pop, not too noisy. Celine for instance is my favourite.

Now the question I have for you all, is that do you have a set personality of your own, or do you guys go for a wide range when it comes to variety. Is it hard for you to change your preference when its called for, or do you just stay who you are, and let none of the outside forces come your way. And how far are you willing to go when it comes to the word variety?

What type are you when it comes to preferences, anything unusual, or just simple and thankful, like everything… do you have a similar story up there and would you please share with us all.

Please do…

looking fwd to hear from ya’ll!
Till then,
Adios!

DB,

Somehow I think I should be compensated for reading the whole post only to find a simple question in the end that could be asked in two sentences.

I feel cheated.

PS. I think my story about the 7 years old girl was a lot better. :-P

PS2. You didn't really expect a gooey slash mushy response from me, did you? :P

Daysee Behna,
I really like this topic you’ve chosen. It’s something to quite ponder about…which unfortunately makes my head hurt & head spin but that’s really okay na..

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/rotato.gif

So you’re wondering if some of us would have a ‘broad spectrum’ or a ‘set’ view when it comes to personality.
Know what though? I think, to me, it’s a combination of the two.

Like, they ought to be the combination for any person where → going by your own set of (lawful) rules, making your own (decent) principles which you yourself want to abide by, resulting to developing your own unique, & distinct personality.
& true, that could be influenced from your past, your Dheen, &/or definately from your own experience.

& anyways, isn’t that 1 of the challenges of living? You learn with what you live by, & fight all the battles you come across by your own mind.

At least that’s my own point of view. & i think what i fail to realize is that, as someone put it for me: I tend to overestimate the reason as to why other ppl say/do what they want.
Like, if i decided something, & someone questioned me why i decided it, i could give them sooo many reasons to back-up my answer. & I’d expect others to do the same if they were in the same spot as I. Though, that’s my blunder: i don’t see others in having no intention & flickering thoughts to contemplate on things the way they do.

& wrt variety, i love variety! Life would be sooo bring without it! It would be boring in all aspects.
Think of all of your friends having the same kind of mentality, the same interests,
nothing new…
& it’s the same with music. What kind of music do i like? Basically, anything & everything.
& the way i think of it is that if like basically anything & everything when it comes to music…
why not life in general…

Although, I don’t read loooong posts but for some reason this girl’s posts always catch my attention…and I read and read…get lost and find my way back somewhere in the middle of the paragraph…then try to understand what she has written and when I get it …hmm it always leaves a smile on my face.

Back to the topic…variety could be termed as exciting, risky, cool, scary…depending on one’s ability to accept the good/bad consequences it brings with it. Monotonous life gets boring but then variety doesn’t promise an escape either. As for me, I like to have variety but I don’t get carried away with it. I don’t over do it cuz I like to leave a charm of adventure and variety always there as an option. Its like a lovely weekend after five days of routine weekday life. Imagine going to a concert of different performers everyday…even though it is a variety but when it would come to my fav singer I might not enjoy the concert as much…the concerts might lose their charm in my eyes.

ciao,
BoSS
Roman, don’t bug DB…or u will be in for a big post and we will make sure u read each and every word of it

j/k

my patooti,

one of these days, i really am gonna take a dive off of something…prolly my bedroom window…you just keep your fingers crossed

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/wink.gif

hows that for variety?

I have to say, as much as i long for change, even more so am i afraid of it. it’s human nature to be comfortable with what we are used to…but if what you’re used to isn’t all that comfortable..

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/wink.gif

then one wants changes..
you know what i am afraid of though sweety, what guarantees that the change will be for the better…i might have said this before…whenever i hear ppl say “achay din nahin rahay to buray bhi nahin rahain gay” “haan, aur buray aa jaaeyn gay!”

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/biggrin.gif

it’s not too amusing being such a pessimist, but at least this way every outcome is pleasant

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/wink.gif

change is good every now and then my patooti, especially if you find urself tied up in a routine that makes life painfully monotonous…
like yesterday, my head was full of “stuff”, felt like i was suffocating at work, so i took lunch and decided to go for a long walk…khair…this place is still fairly new to me..but a couple of blocks down i saw a park…it was beautiful! with a trail that lead deep into this forest like park..found it really peaceful…the squirrals, the birds..and the trees…apart from the creepy cyclist that came out of nowhere and stopped to say hello, and had me paranoid for the next little bit…apart from that, it was purty good. if it wasn’t for the rain, i would have liked to have gone deeper down that trail and gotten lost again today… but aah…i had no umbrella and didn’t wanna come back to work looking like a wet bhootni

anyhow…i only have one question for you…HOW in the WORLD can you LIKE RAISONS??

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/eek.gif

yuck!
chocolate coconut sounds delicious

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/wink.gif

after all this blabber…i guess my point is…you won’t know until you try it.
so go ahead…take the plunge…better to know what it was about then live with the regret of not finding out… you only live once

DB, I'm short on time and didn't read the whole thing, so here be two jabs..

  • Do u mean variety in food?

since you be talkin about raisins? Well uc'course variety in food is essential, ye can't eat mutter or daal for the rest of yer life, yes no.

  • Variety in general?

Variety is what makes life the adventure that it is! If ppl just go according to one linear routine fearing an out-of-the-ordianry occurence they might as well be robots in a auto-factory. Churning out desirable results but at the cost of monotonous-ness (if that's even a word).

Besides 'variety' does not always have to mean 'change'. If you don't like the sample at the supermarket, don't change your choice from ruffles or cheesies. Personally I find ppl who follow the same ol' things every single day, like some ruttoo tota and then complain 'nothing exciting' ever happenning to them; etremely boring and they probably deserve it. You script your own fun, and as long as one keeps within ethical principles, briging variety into the picture is what keeps alive the zest for living. In fact, it soars. Why is it no surprise that so many suicide cases were workers in dead-end collar jobs who followed the 'same ol, same ol' every card punch-in day.

Heck, if I ever become President, I'll make it mandatory for ppl to get variety into dem routines, 1-2-3 jobs abolished, and the only places to have A followed by B followed by C shall be airports, and smarties will be given free to all postal workers, ernie and bert will get some new clothes, the color purple shall be knighted, and ostriches SHALL fly, the beaver is truly a noble animal, my name is elmo and I AM..

gasp
no no, wait!

yer making a big mistake,

...nahinnnnnn!!!

Okay PeopleG listen up, it is not often AuntiG will give such sound advice: the key to life is to try everything (good and lawful for you of course!) at least once - then, more if you like it and not if you don’t. For some, variety may truly be the spice of life; for others, there is comfort in the familiar and in knowing what to expect. People just need to find what works for them. There - now you have the key to my longevity - use it wisely!

MMMMMM ... TALK ABOUT CHANGE!!

believe me ... looking at myself in the mirror for a long time ... say ... a good five months without changing my looks drastically gets me so bored that i don't feel like looking at myself anymore... My hair gets the sissors... my clothes get a revolutionary change!!

Don't like too many new foods but always love to try new brands of coffee ...!

Never experiment too much with people and like to stick with my old friends... can't imagine cheating on my darling hubby though he is the one who always loves to wear the same colours... same old blue shirt and black pyjamas evryday after coming home...!
