Does this look bad?

To send an email with a “cover letter” and forget to attach teh resume?? :smack:

As soon as I hit send, I realized my mistake and attached my resume to the nxt email, where I also wrote “I apologize for m mistake, here is my resume.”

:smack: I’ve made the mistake before, xcept I was just sending it to a friend so it was no big deal.. :bummer::frowning:

Re: Does this look bad?

its ok things happen.

Re: Does this look bad?

sometimes its a good thing to pretend you dont know .
Call them later on and say "i hope you received my resume"
they will say "no we didnt"
you should say " oh i am so sorry for that - i dont know whats wrong with hotmail and my microsoft word. my appologies i will get it over to you right now . you have a wonderful day by the way".

*grin

Re: Does this look bad?

I am such a fuuckup :hinna: :teary2:

Re: Does this look bad?

The rule of Thumb:

ALWAYS attach the file first, then write the body of the email.
This eliminates any chances of shooting it without the attachment.

Re: Does this look bad?

Well, thas not the problem anymore, I emailed it a second later and apologized n the body, and he replied back.. but I still messed up again :smack::teary2:

Re: Does this look bad?

don't kill yourself over it.. if your services are required, they'll hire you regardless..

Re: Does this look bad?

No biggie, happens all the time.

What I do is send another email straight away with the attachment and a brief message saying something to the effect of I am not sure whether the previous email was sent or not, my PC/email was acting up. Usually the latest email is read first and the other one will get ignored/deleted.

Re: Does this look bad?

Okay the thing is, he replied quickly, asking for a writing sample, which I senthim.. after that he didnt respond for a while and I got worried, thnking he rejected it right away.. turns out (when i called) he hadn’t checked his email yet, and he said in teh future dont call till he tells me etc etc.. so I dunno if thas a bad sign :bummer:

Re: Does this look bad?

:smack: hes right Sara, dont keep calling/emailing him asking if he recieved it, give atleast a couple of days or week. For our office we usually told the applicants to wait atleast 4 weeks before following up.

Re: Does this look bad?

Sara, missing an attachment is very common. When you already corrected that then there is nothing to worry about. But don't 'bug' them after sending email . :D Just be calm and wait for the response.

Re: Does this look bad?

It's really not a big deal. They won't care if you've forgotton to attach your file. They'll look at what's important, your credentials.
