FairyTale, I think these experiences are more common in places where there is lack of govrnance and transparency. Unfortunately, in the Emirates, the labor laws are pretty much non existent - I know this because I’ve been through multiple HR consulting engagements there… from what I’ve seen, the HR depts in most private firms have a free hand in how and what they do in terms of their staffing processes.
