my friend recently had a baby boy but doctor told her at 20th week that she is expecting a girl when boy came in they were lil surprized… so just wanted to know does this really happen that u r told other sex n baby is born of other sex? is this common?
Re: does this happen?
Of course it happens. It's usually because the penis can't be seen at the angle or something is mistaken for it.
Better u/s machines will be able to see female genitalia, so determining a girl is not just about the absence of the penis. Still, even now u/s techs rarely say 100%.
Re: does this happen?
I'm assuming your friend had an ultrasound and that's how the doctor told her it was a girl during the pregnancy.
Ultrasound's are not 100% accurate. If you do a search on the internet on the reliability of Ultrasound's in determining the gender of the baby, almost all article you will find will tell you that.
A major part of performing an ultrasound is the technician's or the doctor's ability to accurately analyze what they're seeing on screen. As scary as it may seem, doctors are not right 100% of the time and as human's, they do make mistakes.
So all that being said, it's not "common" for this to happen....but yes, it does happen at times.
