I think the size of the sabzi matters since if its going to be big peices then it might not cook properly or might take longer to cook. finely chopped sabzi is much easier to make the salaan.

on the other hand if the size of the sabzi doesnot matter for the salaan then the main importnat thing is that all the sabzi is fully blended…i dont like such salaan where i can see the sabzi swimming in the shorba…i like smooth rich curry

when you grill chicken for instance, are you grilling drumsticks vs full leg and thigh piece determines how the taste is going to be. In bigger pieces, you rely on internal temperature of the stuff. Bigger pieces take more time but cook more evenly.

Right, but I’m talking about the onions and tomatoes only…the base of the masala… not the actual sabzi/meat/lentil…

Lol! but I use that method and so far so good…just wonder how other salans wud taste differently if say I chopped the onions or put it all in a blender first and wonder i that makes a differene or not
