Honestly for a very long time I have been using my MIL’s way fo chopping onions and tomatoes, which is long thin slices of onion and chunks of tomato…I’ve never noticed a difference though from this way and the way I used to do it before…

Your MIL does not like you so she did not want you to become more sughar then she is.
