Does the concept of Karma exist in Islam?

I completely agree

Re: Does the concept of Karma exist in Islam?

he he... i meant millions of life forms we have to go through but there are billions of years left before the reset button is hit.

our primary goal is to get nirvana and achive moksha. once you achive moksha you break out of the life and death circle and your soul becomes one with god.
contrary to popular belief there is basically one god in the end in hinduism. thats the one who destroys the creation and creates the creator.
there are millions of gods but they are deities which are more like superhumans and live in heaven and time to time they come down on earth.
in present era which is called kalyug or dark or death era gods dont come down anymore. we are working our way towards our destruction by increasing sins in the creation.

interesting topic! from what I’ve read, karma is one’s actions leading to other events and actions. So basically a person is in a way ‘leading’ their destiny.
In Islam, though, we believe that Allah (swt) has already written our destinies (or fate). Even before we’re born, everything is laid out for us. So whatever happens to us, it IS for a reason. I don’t think one can say that because they did something wrong or bad, that they’re being punished with something else. Moreover, it’s a test, to see what paths we’ll take.

Just my two cents on it.

Also, I just read this article today and it touches on this subject:

more like the different deities're different manifestations of the same Brahm. that's the core behind the whole Hindu pantheon system as opposed to Greek or Egyptian pantheon.
also, a deity is prophesied to come down in future; Kalki! and when he comes, it'd be Pralay. much like the Abrahamic Judgement Day, na?

also different schools within Hinduism've different views on Karma and the Heaven/Hell equation. a/c to one, there's the usual Heaven and Hell like in other religions, and a/c to another, when we get Nirvana, our soul merges with the Supreme Soul and if it doesnt then we continue to be trapped in the cycle of birth.
