does talking about awareness and rights mean you are showing people ways to rebel against cultural norms?
and yes i am not referring to rights which say both genders are equal and all the blah like that…i am talking about the basic right of a woman to say no to violence and beatings of a husband? I recently held a workshop on family laws for new immigrants and guess what the first question i was asked by a nakaab waley auntie was that rather than persuading women to stay in a relationship and try to make it work i am telling them of how to get out of an abusaive relationship. that marraige is sacred and it is highly evil of me to make them aware of situations and alternatives to get out of it.

why is our nation blessed with such jahils? and how can a masters degree in psychology and 15 years of living in states can not make u any less jahil? why cant we change?
Re: does talking about awareness and rights mean you are showing people ways to rebel
I don’t think that a discussion about fundamental rights…rights even granted by religion…“shows” or demonstrates ways to rebel. Your just discussing another option…and it’s up to the person who is listening as to what they want to do with that information. People can make their own choices. The listener might use the information to find either a peaceful resolution, a more aggressive one, or could even choose to react in an apathetic/passive manner. Putting all the blame on the speaker for discussing an issue/option…exempts the listener from any individual responsibility/accountability for their actions. Shoulda just egged the Paindu…but that would be a showcase of “rebellion.”

Making people aware of their rights is actually giving them options to consider in miserable situations.

because we dont want to change. Location & education has little influence on the stubborn ones.
