Does skin polish damage skin? I normally get it done after 6 months or so. It gives me a fresh & glowing look but does it in fact internally damage our skin or is it useful for our skin when it gets massaged, cleansed, black heads removed, bleached etc?
Re: Does skin polish damage skin?
my beautician says its ok if you get it done after 6 months.
Just find-out what products they're using, some use really strong bleach and steroids. Those can be harmful...the effect is temporary once you've gotten a 'polish'.
Re: Does skin polish damage skin?
They use Pakistani products of company named 'Soft touch' & also of 'golden girl'. Very few like i guess one was 'neautrogena'.
Although my skin looks clean & fresh, unknown local brand products scare me a bit. I use something on my skin only if its from a reliable brand but i am not sure about 'soft touch' & 'golden girl'. I have seen their products in many parlours in Lahore though.
Most products that are made in Pakistan contain some amount of steroids because they have to live-up to their claim of making you 'glow and gori'. It's a temporary effect though. If skin 'polishing' was actually beneficial i'm sure it would've been available in salons all over the globe, and by now several home versions would have been out.

yes it does ...........simple
Re: Does skin polish damage skin?
What exactly is skin polishing? Abracadabra's initial post sounds like a facial. When are steroids used in a skin polish?
