Does religion make people insecure ?

When I post here something which doesn’t go well with some muslim (mullah type) Guppies on this forum, they start declaring me Hindu using muslim name. Same way on many Indian forums whenever I post something which is what many Hindu (read Rss type) guppies dont like hearing, they accuse me of being anti-Indian or Pakistani Spy etc…

Now, does their faith make them so weak that they start calling names the moment someone disagrees with them in the matters of faith and belief ? Does religion make people so weak ?

There is a reason Asif_k...Your reply in Health and Relationships to my post about arranged marriage immediately told me you were not a Muslim...For one, no Muslim would say something like that...We are trained to think in higher terms...We just know, instinctively, who is and who is not a Muslim...

Problem is, there is no way around it either...You can't 'act' Muslim...it's something that comes from within...

We know you are not a Muslim Asif_k, yet we tolerate you...No probs, act Muslim...

i think it does....
otherwise u wud not conceal ur religious identity....
and be open in saying u r a hindu....

and those who think u r anti-indian might be joking cuz u love ur country so much that u cannot ever say anything against it, even if its the worst possible thing, u have to call it good....
or maybe u r so shy of being a hindu, u might have even introduced urself as ASIF to hindus so u had to hear those comments....

because it it is divisive to say your religen instaead of saying hindu/muslim/dalit/brahmin. our face says we are indians that includes
musharuff.we dont claim to be arabs/mughals

Name calling has been ongoing for centuries. It's not a new phenomenon. Especially within the Iindian Sub Continent. This is nothing to do with religion, it's a cultural thang.

Would you prefer ' mera joota, tumhara sar' instead. In other words (my shoe, your head).

Asif, the problem is with Muslims of Pakistan. They are programmed in a way that it is deep in their mind that all Indian Muslims hate India.
(Tune sometime to PTV.)

The second problem is off course is in Islam. It is a true theory of that if you are not with me, means you are with the enemy. There is no third concept.
No doubt, for them the President of India, Kalam is a Kufr.

Lazawab - You are right, you are trained to think in Higher Terms. It appears from all your posts.

armughal - I think you couldn't be more weak.

Yahudi - I think the problem is with people like you and not in any religion, you are no different than armughal.

aare. What do u mean u cant "act" Muslim? Of course u can act Muslim. Islam is a lifestyle, not just a belief.

Keep your personal insults to yourself. This is your one and only warning. Next time, the Admin will be involved.

The people who question others religion are the most insecure themselves.

why so much hate against hindus? Peace, brother

faith doesnt make them weak.. but it hurts people when u make fun of their beliefs and lifestyle. u need to respect other's opinions/religion in order to get same from them. :-)
i think ppl need to be open minded when they talk about religion or culture and be respectful before pointing out whts wrong with that religion. mockery says a lot about the mocker than the one being mocked.

You nailed it. May God have mercy on those who mock others' faith.

Asif religion doesn't make anyone weak or insecure its their interpretation of religion. Other's attitude makes them fell insecure. Religion without understanding is not useful to anyone.
I am not very old member of gushup to say why you get responses like you do but do you think that you ever offended anyone without intending to? In such case apologizing for offending others is best solution i think. Just respect others idealogy and beliefs and hopefully they'll respect yours.

yeah, I watched Fox and guess what I learnt. you really are a genius, what are you doing in swaziland anyway?

Asif- this is a very interesting thread. I think it's not religion which is the problem here; it's that some people have not been exposed to differences in thinking and behavior. It's also a question of trusting your fellow beings and believing that they mirror oneself in rationality and honesty. By that I mean I can take everyone here as a friend (sort of) or as an adversary (sort of). I prefer to trust rather than distrust.

Funny isn't it, how some have accused you of being me - while you seem to me to be 100% Indian muslim. YOu've blown a fuse against the RSS types and mullah types, you've talked of your inter-cultural marriage - it's obvious you are what you say you are, unless you are a liar of great magnitude, and judging from your posts, you're not. You're an anti-bigot and I can only feel sorry for those who are such poor judges of character they can't smell the coffee.:)

I must admit that I used to do the same thing, even to Asif_K, but recently I learnt how religion is a person's personal issue and we shouldnt be doing this. Bring a Hindu, and use a needle to poke his arm and you will find the same color of blood that you will inside a Muslim.

Asif_K, those that attack you, they are not insecure because of religion; they are insecure because of their lack of faith and limited understanding of their religion. Lets hope they reach enlightment, and stop promoting further hatred amongst those that are already divided.

My parents never told me that Muslims divided our country. They used to say that Jinnah divided our country.
I repeat that in our schools we are never taught anything against Muslims, as well as against Muslims of India.

I would like to know if situation and study attitude has been same in Pakistan? (A question to Karina in person).

(Though for some time RSS/VHP are succeeding in blaming Muslims for all faults.)
