There have been a couple of money/marriage related threads. So i thought i would ask the age old question:
does money buy happiness?
In my opinion money can buy you comfort and security but it does not fulfill you so it does not buy happiness.

an american professor serves his friends with coffee in four different kinds (different make) of cups. he observes that each one of them tries to get the expensive looking and elegantly designed cup. now coffee was the same , why would everybody want it different cups.. in fact we all want 'life' ... some are comfortable and content with a small two bedroom flat, for some a huge bungalow isn't enough to make them happy.. it's such a complicated phenomenon that nobody has an answer to.. but def MONEY ALONE CAN NEVER BUY YOU HAPPINESS!

If you believe in Money power maybe for you Money can buy happiness, but it's like other things in life all good things must come to an end at some point so it can never buy you out forever....
If you think the capitalist aproach will work for you then thats cool buy your way out of trouble but it isn't the same rule book everywhere... History has shown us that at time money cant buy you happiness, hell it cant buy you out of any mess just ask the likes of Crassus, Darius, Alexander, Inalchuk, Lord Byron right down to Elvis, NW and MJ king of pop himself none of them found happiness in thier hordes of wealth so maybe theres a lesson for us all.
Thats not to say Money does not help but like currency it is only usefull when you got the right stuff. :D

money is trash. a purse full of money cannot even buy you one smile. Talking from a normal person's point of view. Not those who rob and kill and cheat and steal and all for money.

There is a phrase that says.
Wanting what you have not having what you want will make you truly happy.
I get where this is coming from a 'gratitude attitude'
but doesnt this kill ambition?

In the short term yes, in the greater scheme of things no.
They do not fullfill you as a person.

money doesn’t hurt either. It can buy you lots of opportunities to fulfill your dreams and… it can make you lazy and not have dreams to fulfill in life.

Money can make life an ease, when you don't have to worry about finance, life can be good...but it doesn't take away problems like relationships, lonliness, illness etc.

Financial distress is the #1 reason for divorce. So yeah money is very important and it makes life so much easy and better. If a person is unhappy because he is poor and can't afford nice things for his family then money will definitely enable him to buy things which in turn make him happy..
