Thanks everyone! I was at the midwife yesterday and she told me about a herbal homeopathic medicine called 'Nux Vomica'. It's safe to use for pregnant women and supposedly really helps with nausea. I started taking it today and hopefully it'll help iA.
She also said that it's probably going to last a couple more weeks and after that I'll start feeling a lot better.
Sahar; I'm down 10 pounds aswell and miraculously I spotted a bump yesterday. I think it was there for a while but I was just in denial thinking it was my tidd :D
really shinoo? aariz has been prescribed nux vomica too..for his reflux.. we are just waiting for it to arrive by the end of the month.. im dyin to try it out.. let me know hwo it goes for u .. ok?
COngrtzz Shinno
Nausea gets better by 16 or 17 weeks but if you are still feeling low just ask your doc to give u medicine for nausea, my doc gave me dramimine but it still depends on your doc if he /she allows it or not.
I'm nearly 19 weeks pregnant now, mash'allah and the nausea completely and quite suddenly stopped at 17.5 weeks! I no longer have severe food aversions and eating is fun again :-D Alhamdulillah (touch wood).
Ps- Khawateen, don't know if Aariz has taken 'Nux Vomica' but it did absolutely nothing for me. It actually gave me headaches so I stopped taking them after a few days!
it didnt do jack for aariz either... i gave it a few times but thats it.. bechara cant tell me if he got a headache or not..but he continued throwing up so i didnt bother anymore
but congrats on the holding up with throwing up.. EAT NOW :d
Congrats on your pregnancy!
For most people it gets better after the first trimester, for some it lasts the whole nine months. Hopefully you are one of the former :)
Do you live in a hot climate? That adds to the nausea. I vomitted like crazy the first two months in karachi. I moved to abbottable towards the end of the second month and only threw up once in the next two months. Moved to Peshawar in the 5th month and the nausea came back.... I think it was the heat that made me feel worse!
trust me, second trimester has been plain sailing and here’s me getting happy thinking ooh if stays it’s like this pregnancy is awesome.
Then dum dum dum - comes an achy butt, actually feeling so fat, not fitting into anything, painful back, sleepless nights and heartburn. Welcome to the third trimester!!! Only the labour to get through now…omg haven’t even though about that!

haha :D well at least you've got the baby doing somersaults inside you. although after a while it certainly doesn't feel all that great after a while.
and don't think about the labour! the more you think about it, the more it freaks you out. one piece of advice...stay far away from those 'baby stories' shows on tv. they don't help at all :p
lol shinoo.. ure so cute :D u know.. blame everthing and anything on being pregnant .. thats what u get pregnant for .. to play the eat and blame game :D and oh so totally helpless
puchi kuchi: eat almonds for heartburn!! my friend suffered from it bad and she swore by them

is this your first? :)
This child was doing bhangra from 14 weeks she was poking then full blown kicks at 18/19 weeks..Now it's thumps and upper cuts! I think she's going to be a boxer! :-D LOL
Yeah it's my first..but guess what though? I have been like addicted to those baby programmes and i'm constantly recording birth stories from the health channel to get me prepared hahaa, it probably won't help coz i'll be so freaked out. How do you stay calm in labour? TIPS PLEASE! Yeah I get butt pain sometimes, but when I lay on my sides but when I'm sitting its okay. On the plus side, i havent got any strechmarks yet and my boobs are bigger :-)

lol @ bhangra :D ..and sometimes it's those jabs that come outta nowhere. you'll be sitting there all nice, and bang, it's like their tiny little elbow hits you, and makes you jump!
you stay calm in labour by not watching all those ladies screaming and crying during their deliveries! :p but seriously though, you should look into going to the prenatal classes they offer at the hospital. they'll help you and your husband during your delivery.
