Abdullah bin Umar (ra) related that the Prophet (pbuh) said:
‘On the day of judgement, every religion will be divided into 72 sects and they will all be put into Hellfire. Islam will be divided into 73 sects and 72 of them will be put into hellfire. The one sect that will remain safe would be the one that followed the Qur’an and Sunnah’

I dunno about you, but I’d rather not associate with any sect if that’s where it could lead me

you may find this hadeeth among shias stating that It’s not sunnah but it’s Ahl-e-Bait.
