I dont think its a ego issue. In most shia famlies its a custom to wash your wife’s foot on wedding night and sprinkle that water in all corners of the house for blessing (barqat).

Whenever I DABAOOOfy her feet, all roads lead to Pizza Pizza or some other take out place coz this only means she can not cook today
