Does it happen

That you enter a gathering and you can feel if there are positive or negative vibes around ?

I don't mean paranormal stuff but just a regular positive/negative vibe.

Introvert traits.. always reluctant to enter a gathering and if we do, we try to get a detailed sense of environment and start thinking how to quickly get out of there :D

We usually want out of ALL gatherings :hehe: but some are really positive and you love those.

Only when you see a familiar face who has been friendly with you

True. But now I try to take the lead in connecting with people. It’s difficult but with time the seconds of hesitation have reduced.
I try to be the person who makes another person comfortable when I sense they’re feeling awkward.

Always! I wasn't able to convey it until I was an adult though.

I can change the energy in my surroundings, smiles are contagious. 90 plus percent of communication is non verbal. The scowls are disturbing. Many are raised with criticism, abuse, yelling and put downs and are unable to be happy.

Yes, I have observed that just the presence of one person can many a times change the entire energy in the room.

Baksh do unkal. After eating mooli ke parathay and farting with the speed of 636 km/h we know what contagious energy you are spreading around

Bobby enters a room and then the corners of one person’s lip tug upwards in mock amusement and that person sends a knowing glance to another person…who also starts to smile…who then looks at another person who smiles and silently thinks, “Here we go again” as he looks at yet another person in the room…who in turn bestows the tickled look of an inside joke on another person. Pretty soon they’re all smiling. Yes, smiles can be contagious.

Are u sure that you’re interpreting the smiles correctly?

What you're referring to as vibes is actually the picking up of microexpresssions in people's body language and faces. Introverts are naturally more observant and they pick up on microexpressions that their more extroverted counterparts are likely to miss.

Do we do that without realizing we are doing it?

A place might just not “feel right" or the people in a particular room might get a “funny feeling." There have been many explanations for it. One theory, for instance, says it's the strange facial expressions or vocal tones that we pick up from others subconciously. Research says humans can detect chemosignals, through smelling bodily excretions, such as sweat or tears, left over from people previously at that location. Many other mammals transmit chemical signals, for instance, cats leave cheek rubbings or urine to mark their territory.

Human beings are social creatures who naturally benefit from emotional signaling. When one person in an ancient Stone Age band showed fear, say, when noticing an oncoming predator, if others in the band were tuned into the first observer's emotional state quickly enough, they could take up arms and defend themselves. 'Sensory acquisition' means picking up on the fear felt by others. Studies have proven that making a fearful expression causes us to breathe in more through our nose, which enhances our perception and speeds up eye movements so we can locate potential dangers more easily. Disgusted facial expressions, such as lowering our eyebrows or wrinkling our nose, signals to others that something is poisonous, noxious, or rotten. This could save members of the group from food poisoning, for example, by preventing them from eating spoiled meat.

So, emotional signaling helps us to understand one another and communicate in a fast and effective manner, which is sorely needed when navigating difficulties in the environment.

Vibes.

That’s the keyword. here.

Are those vibes for real or created in the mind of the person who enters?

What I mean is yes both are possible.

People in the room may have negative or positive feelings about the new comer and there maybe some cues or vibes in real.

But how much of these cues not real or created by the people in the room???

Going further than the question:

My advise is to enter with positive attitude.

Be strong and act confident.

If negative vibe is perceived for some reason, either create positive attitude among people in room by saying something good, a punch line, or something similar.

Or ignore altogether the negative vibe and mind your own business eventually not ruining your mood.

Do not let others “control” your emotions.

We are made up of atoms and have electro magnetic fields, we have feelings because of neurotransmitter children, dogs cats can sense that, we train people to not ignore gut feeling, if a gathering makes you uneasy than try to minimize contact and leave as soon as you can
