Does it bother anyone else?

Reading the thread on Vaneeza’s nikkah inspired this thread.

Does anyone else feel betrayed when reading about affairs between celebrity couples that extend, beyond casual dates, into common living arrangments? As Pakistanis and therfore muslims, is it not incumbent on all our celebrities to lead a life that somwhat fits into the realm of Islam?

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

^^ Wow, talk about making judgements about what Islam really is and who's really following it. You're not perfect yourself, so let God make that call and let people do as they like -- live and let live, in peace.

Will someone delete this idiotic thread?

PS: Everyone loves Vaneeza, she's fantastic and no one gives a crap about what she's doing in her private life

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

^ why should this thread be deleted? everybody has a right to express his opinion. Besides, learn tolerance yourself before preaching others.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

ya to some extent it does. it seems shocking to hear such news about a paksitani artists and that too muslim but at the end of the day everyone has their own way of living with religion and its between god and that person.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

It would be silly to assume that everyone follows Islamic teachings in Pakistan as some people drink alcohol, cohabit etc...that is their lifestyle choice. However, I do have a problem with certain celebs revealing such lifestyles on TV or in the print media - it's gross and certainly shouldn't be advertised to the world.

I admire Vaneeza Ahmed for keeping her life private, she made sure her wedding wasn't publicised which is a sharp contrast to the 'Shoaib-Sania' style of self-promotion.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

we should believe whatever we read or hear.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

Islam does not allow promiscuity. we as muslims should condemn it. co habiting definetly promotes it. sexual relations outside of marriage are haram, hence called zina. its a sin that is punishable in all religions, not just islam.
so to all the people preaching live and let live, u have to live correctly and not promote wrong stuff.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

i want to see Quaid's Pakistan - that is, a progressively conservative Islamic nation where all citizens have a balance of deen and duniya.

I don't prescribe to a molvi's ideology but there are certain ghair-Islamic principle that must be stayed away from like shirk and zina.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

^^ Well stop picking on celebrities, and start with your elected leaders who lie, lie and LIE ( VERY un-Islamic, mind you) and your lot still supports them and/or their political parties, and votes for them as well.

Celebrities are just an easy target. It would be refreshing if similar issues are raised about the corrupt politicians and their lavish lifestyles, their ill-gotten money and other shenanigans...I just don't see how that can escape the radar of all the wannabe religious vigilantes?

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

Look, you need to understand, as hard as it may be for you, that you're on a public forum and that I, like you, or anyone else, has a right to express my opinion about such inane threads -- so please, cut the hypocrisy and be tolerant of different viewpoints

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

It's her personal life and she can do whatever she wants with it as long as she's not breaking the law. Now it wouldn't be fun if people started commenting about your life and how "Islamic" you are.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

what if she's breaking Allah's law?

secondly, i try to live a naik and parezgaar life as much as i can....im always open to suggestions as to how best i can live a decent, modest life according to Allah's commands.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

I would say that celebrities can do whatever they want as long they are good at their jobs. Vaneeza is a good model and i only care about that. I don't care how she lives her life thats her business.

As for the talk of being Islamic we have to first think realistically that not every one who is born a Muslim is Muslim. Maybe Vaneeza or any other celebrity doesn't believe in a God and if they do believe in one their interpretation of God might differ significantly from yours. So if you really are a 'parezhgar' then you should believe in the theory of live and let live. Stop caring about how other people are living their lives before perfecting yours!

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

So let her break Allah's law. She will have to answer Allah for her sins on the day of judgement. Stick to being a practicing muslim and let the others do what they like.

Re: Does it bother anyone else?

one thing, religion is totally different in normal life and in tv world

i have seen actresses and actors turn shia or sunni when it comes to popularity. Not to mention the ppl who we call celebrities, saari kishtiyaan jala ker he is darya mein utarti haen

so we cant blame them… after all they belong to the media
