I prayed Istikhara for the second time today, last night I didn’t see any signs in my dream (or I forgot the dream) apparently if I see something White or green it is a sign tht I should go ahead with my decision, if I see red or black then I should stay away from it. I should continue with the Istikhara for 7 days and if I dont see anything still then I should follow my heart…
I just pray isha.. and 2 nafel and pray for guidance.
till next morning my head is always clear to make decision.
Some time I see a detailed dream too.. about a future event.
**istiKhara is NOT an EXACT science...there isn't any guarantee that u'll get any indication and besides one has to have a pious life style b4 expecting any guidance from Allah *. isee tonnes of people who have very little to do with practical aspect of islam and they engage in such practices, i think one can NOT expect to receive Allah's help when Allah is not very happpy [given the obvious life style]
if u do expect, then u should give atleast 7 day's time and even then u may not see anyu clear indication or sign...sometimes just feeling good about what u asked Allah's guidance for is a good indicator. ur weigh ur inclination towards the possible outcomes. u may repeat istiKhaara a couple of times if u so wish in case u don't see any indication. :) Good luck iA :)***
Allah swt is OUR CREATOR. We should EXPECT His help in any case, no matter how we are and always hope for it.

i meant if u forget Allah in ur life Allah is gonna forget u...u've to conform to a islamic way of life b4 expecting the anything...we live a life away from islam and expect that Allah will be with us...how naive it is...FIRST, we have to be a good muslim then expect miracles.**
People continue to think that they will see a "dream." That is not necessarily so.
Basically, in the Istikhara dua, you ask Allah that if this step is good for you and the hereafter, that He make it easy for you. And if the step you're thinking of undertaking is harmful for you in both worlds, that He turn it away from you. Pray the Istikhara dua.....and if it's meant to be Allah will let it happen with ease. And if it isn't, you may find obstacles. Listen to your heart as well. Does it feel at ease? If you're making this dua, especially in regards to a rishta, then please do a thorough investigation of the potential guy and ask him all the questions that you feel are important. Dua k saath, you also have to take action. Whatever situation you are making dua for, I hope that it all turns out well, Amin :)
I actually agree with KKF, there are many people out there living a good lifestyle, far away from Islam - don’t read namaaz, don’t follow the basic rules of Islam, almost forget Allah (swt) and then all of a sudden, when something bad happens in their Life; they start praying and expect Allah to help them .
You forget Allah when you are not facing any problems in your life, living a good lifestyle and when a problem comes - out of blue, you start Praying and expect Allah (swt) to help you?. How dumb is that?
Simple rule of Islam, always pray and remember Allah (swt) everyday. Have fear of Allah inside you. Don’t just expect Allah (swt) to help you when you hardly do anything to please him.
CE, when you do istikhara and go to bed, you should wake up feeling a sense of Ok towards a certain decision, not necessarily see a dream. If you feel uncertain stillm you can do this for 3 or 7 times. So let's say you are planning to buy a car and you are leaning toward buying car A, when you do istikhara, you should feel more confident about going with car A or feel an obstacle in your path.
Istikhara doesn't mean u'll necessarily see a dream. don't wait for red/black, white/green signs. i never saw them. sometimes u get a dream, other times u find it easy to make a decision. if none of these happen n u r still reluctant abt something i'll say drop it. its a sign its not for u.
