Re: Does Fawad Alam deserves a chance
I was talking from seen him in the one ODI and one 20/20 and then from the feedback on his batting in the Indian ODI warmup match. I have also seen his domestic 20/20 final performance. I agree that once he is in the squad, he should be given a fair chance to prove himself in the field. To get selected in the playing eleven, he needs to win the confidence of captain and coach in the nets. That is something he has not been able to do.
How much of him did you see in those three one dayers and 20/20 really? And in the 20/20 domestic final, he was the man of the match. I have no problems if the guy has been tested and has failed, but if he hasn't even been tried, it's best not to make statements like "He has not looked good in the few chances he has gotten" without reason.
Re: Does Fawad Alam deserves a chance
i was wondering why Pakistani captions these days are afraid of trusting youngsters. the success of Imran's captaincy was in relying in youngsters. i remember before the WC 92 semi final, inzi himself didn't want to play but it was the eye of his skipper who saw something in him and had full trust in him to play the big game.
Re: Does Fawad Alam deserves a chance
I quote:
G_K,
I believe he was just refering to Akmal’s injury and It’s back up, not generalizing as such. As for a good Captain, he has to swap players. Tours are not just to be won, but are practicals where you can learn about your own players, teams and team management. If you don’t give them chances at Tours, where then? At WCs?

Unfortunately Ali_R, phuddu Malik has learnt from the master of all phuddus in the field; Mr. Inzi. Atleast Inzi made up for his laziness in the field with his brilliant batting. Too bad Malik has nothing going for him as a captain.

Game, I hope It's not true. Warna aise young Captain ka faida kya. If he still keeps up old traditions alive. I still consider him as having a lot of potential. Let him be given a chance. I hope he will do best.

Lagta hai k naya naya word seekha hai :-) I don't think you should be using this sort of langauge for people who give their best for the country and made us proud on numerous occassions especially when you do this to just sound kool and tough on the forum. Malik is just a bacha and he is definitely making mistakes, just hope that he will learn quickly and beggars can't be choosers so we have to stick with him and hope he learns from his mistakes.

*It's not about his commitment for the country; I have never doubted that. He is just not a captain, by any stretch of the imagination. Once again, I guarantee you that if we win the 4th ODI, it will be because of individual performances and not due to Malik's captaincy. *
