Sisters, I’m completely mystified by this. Do you realize that desis have what most of us gora people consider the ideal skin tone? And also darker people like African Americans, they consider the wheatish skin tone the most beautiful. My fiance (a guy, obviously) is even insecure about his shade–light wheat—and I don’t get it! I think he looks perfect!
I think the world over many people find beautiful what they don’t have. Just please make sure whatever product you use doesn’t affect your health, because that’s so much more important than any measure of beauty.
They never work. Trust me..lol, i've tried almost all of these in my early teen years cuz i was constantly remarked by be relatives about my complexion. I used fair n lovely, fair ever, shahnaz hussain's fair one and 10 more perhaps. I even used loreal white perfect day n night but NOTHING worked..And eventually my complexion lightened how it is actually supposed to...."naturally".
my mom would make me put it on since i was in elementary school and it didnt do anything hahaha
so i stopped using it in like junior high? u just need some proper sunscreen, fair and lovely doesnt do a thing.
I did not get to choose my nikkah dress, and my sister chose a medium/light shade of blue. It has a lot of work done on it. My skin tone is not white or dark...its in between if I take good care of my skin.
But the point is, it doesn't look that good on me. My mom said its fine, just use some golden pearl on face and neck. :(
My to-be hubby's skin color is light also....
Desi people sure have a way of destroying our confidence.
BTW these creams do work. I tried Golden Pearl last summer in Pakistan, and so did my cousins in Pak. There is a way to use them. You have to use them first for a week straight, than use it for 2-3 days and stop using it for 2-3 days, than use again for 2-3 days...so basically use for half week.
