does everything happen

for a reason?

Re: does everything happen

I think more than facts it'll come down to what one believes.

I don't think everything happens for a reason.

Re: does everything happen

A happening is an event, a change from a stationery state - people can explain how that happening happened using science - but to asnwer to why somthing happens you need to believe in a pervading consciousness ...

sometimes things don't always happen for a good reason ...

Re: does everything happen

ok psyah why do two electrons repel each other? you can use science, math, religion, conciousness, yoga, epilepsy, whatever you like to explain it.

Re: does everything happen

To put it into perspective for myself, woke up from sleeping around and thought this will not happen again so I went to driving school. Passed. Got the license. Got a car. Got the confidence to talk to other people after an indefinite period of time of just walking around like a zombie. So yeah, everything does happen for a reason. But, I have noticed that as you begin to get older you start saying it happened by the will of Allah which obviously it does but when you were younger you used to say it happens for a reason which we know nothing of and only Allah knows about it. I don't think I explained it right but I'll go with the flow because everything happens for a reason.

Re: does everything happen

Sir Francis Bacon says 'A prudent question is one-half of wisdom'.

The problem that I see with your question is the definition of "reason". What I could understand from the replies is that your question is about divine Will vs Human will. If I have got it right then don't you think divine Will could also be considered a REASON just like human influence could be a reason?

now the question is "why am I posting a reply here?"

In simplistic terms there could be two reasons

1 - Because I want to
2 - Because Allah wants me to

so yes, everything happen for a reason and the reason could be divine Will as well as human effort.
