What jobs build economy? Not necessary outsourcing.

well manufacturing is outsourcing too. The products that were made in usa, uk before are now made in china. The same way the call center/it jobs that were first done in USA are now done in india.
India needs manufacturing jobs as it will generate jobs in higher numbers. Still the bpo and it sector has immensely helped india. U just have to go to hyderabad or bangalore to see it for yourself. Every IT job in india is generating 3-4 other jobs indirectly. India's It and bpo revenue is now close to $US 25 billion. That is a lot of money.
I have some friends who had done bcom in india. Now they are working in call centers and earning around Rs 15,000 a month. That is not bad. If it wasnt for these kind of jobs they might be doing some clerical work which pays around 5000-6000/month. So imo it has definately helped in improving the std. of livings of people who were not able to do engineering, accounting or some other skilled professions. Remember even in developed countries only a tiny proportion are drs, engineers, accountants. Rest of them comes under the unskilled work force. Also call center, bpo jobs have a much higher payscale then if u work in manufacturing.
