I’m referring to the instrumental scores that are composed specifically for the movie or TV show (even video games). I love listening to them, even video game soundtracks, but I don’t know anyone else who does, so I thought I’d ask the all knowing forums of GS to see if there are any other weirdos like me. If yes, do you have any favourites?
I remember watching the director’s cut of Troy, and the additional scenes messed up the synchronization of the audio and video (i.e. during the slow part of a battle, the upbeat part of the song would be playing). It annoyed the hell out of me and it was the first time I really started paying attention to how important mus
I listen to those too and there’s nothing weird about it, those who have love for music like listening to these soundtracks. They sound better if you have watched the movies.
Some of my favourites are, in no particular order: Braveheart, Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon, Lord of the Rings.
Ah yes, that’s a famous one. I like it too.
I’ve listened to the Tree of Life soundtrack but I can’t recall any track that stands out to me. It was good though. Love Game of Thrones. And Superman and Starwars is awesome as well. Gotta love John Williams.
Agreed. Finding a good movie with an awesome soundtrack is the best. I like Hans Zimmer as well. Also like John Powell and James Newton Howard. James Horner is good too, but he recycles his own work sometimes.
And animated movies usually have good soundtracks. Check out The Lion King, Kung Fu Panda, How To Train Your Dragon. As for Inception, I love “Mombassa” and “Time”.
Post some favourite **tracks **from your favourite soundtracks. I’m always interested in what people like, and sometimes a single track is awesome, even if the rest of the soundtrack is lackluster. I’ll start.
My favorites are James Bond, Superman, Mission Impossible and Star Wars.
So you just like the main tracks. Fair enough. Those are usually the best. Superman and Star Wars are classics by John Williams. Mission Impossible is also good (Hans Zimmer). I like the song "Injection" from MI2 as well.

Love Black Hawk Down!
I loved the soundtrack for the movie "Drive" when I watched it in the theater.
I liked the beat that plays when he's driving in the beginning.
