does anyone know this verse...?

laila was very very dark..lail itself means black..?

and when someone asked majnoo how he could love someone who was so dark…he replied with some verses…some beautiful poetry in punjabi..

does anyone remember what it is…? i cant seem to recall…

shukran kaseeran

Akheya kise ne Majnoo kuN,
teri Laila rang di kali.
Ageyon Majnun Jatt farmaiya,
teri akh na wekhan Aali.
Chitte verk Koran de jitay siyahe rang di kali.
Akhe Ghulam Farid, jithe dil adrape,
hove rang di gori ya kali

u da man braadar :k:

thank U

wah kia baat hai :k:

nice Whome :)

But Majnoo was the man, he saw far more in Laila than merely her complexion

RT and lost soul

we were discussing this at work today at lunch…

one guy was saying “ishq andha naheen hota kaana hota hae aik aankh zara see khuli hoti hae us mein se dekh rha hota hae” :hehe: he gave example of ranjha who made a whole scheme how to get heer…

but some of us were of the view that ishq is actually andha :hehe: we gave example of majnoo

but our conclusion was that majnoo was obsessed…it was a junoon…majnoo was obsessed with laila…he liked everything in her…no matter what she was…

khayr, i love this piece of poetry

** Jab muqaddar bat raha tha, ishq ne awaz di
mujh ko de do, aisi ankhaiN, jin maiN benayi na ho **

I thought Laila majnoo were urdu...

Does anyone know who wrote Laila Majnoo....was it Waris Shah??

It was 'love at first sight'. Laila, while 'dark', is supposed to be very pretty. I dont think majnoo ever got to know her that well. Some ppl say it was only her hair that was very long and dark.

Fairy tale heros dont fall in love with 'ugly' women.
