Eye care product causes fungus

Bausch and Lomb suspended shipments of the RENU with moisture-lock solution after reports of an eye infection known as Fusarium Keratitis. Bausch and Lomb stopped the shipment of RENU in Singapore and Hong Kong in February after a similar spike in the fungal infection.
Without treatment, the infection can scar the cornea and blind its victims.
Symptoms include blurry vision, pain or redness, increased sensitivity to light and excessive discharge from the eye.

really scared me…

yeah this news came out a few months ago. they recalled all of them, and i'm not too sure if they are still selling the product or not. i think they had to pay those people who were infected too. meanwhile i would switch to normal renu or another brand of contact lens solution.

Re: Does anyone know that RENU with moisture lock solution causes Fungus

i use renu solution and it's been good to me.

i think what happens is that people don't clean out their solution everday like they should, and that's what causes the fungus to grow. if you clean your case and clean you contacts on a daily basis, don't think anything should happen.

but fungus in your eyes? ..eww, that's just gross

Re: Does anyone know that RENU with moisture lock solution causes Fungus

no it's not the cleaning thing. it was that specific brand of contact solution, the moisture lock, that had the problem. the solution had that fungus, and it lead to a lot of people going blind.
