Does anyone have Milk intolerance or know about it

My son gets belly aches after drinking milk for quite some time now.. doesn’t anyone know anything about it,how to manage and what test should be done? etc etc.thanx

how old is yr son , if > 1-2 yr than he might be having lactose intolerance or may be dairy allergy , u need to consult yr doctor , and get to know about yr family + husbands family history just to make sure if anyone else in the family has similar problem , such things r often hereditery.

im also lactose intolerant. i retch if i have to drink milk by itself (and its been this way since i was a kid) and i get stomach aches. alot of people are lactose intolerant and dont know about it. u just have to reduce consumption of milk. if he is a grown up kid im sure he can do without it.

Thanks for the reply.

He is 3 years old but has no problem eating other milk containing products like bread, cereal, pancakes or cookies. I have scheduled his appointment with his pediatrician and will ask to refer him to a gastroenterologist, just to be on the save side. because kids needs calcium , he is already a picky eater and now milk is causing more problems, so much stomach cramps...my poor baby....:( I don't think anyone in my family has this..but i will do my research more.....Thanks for your info...It helped a lot.....

Thanks for the reply. How did you keep your calcium intake level balanced. because kids need more calcium since their bones is still growing…were you fine with bread etc..i am trying to find out if there is milk milk intolerance and severe intolerance… how old were you when u or ur parents first found out about this?
i think i am asking too many questions :halo:

yes i wil say same lactose milk,,my son is 21 and he still take lactose..he cant take other milk,but yeha he can eat icecream..:)

my parents never knew there was such a thing as being allergic to milk. they made me drink the whole glass by force and said “naak band ker kay poora glass peelo :(” i figured this out on my own after a while.
by the way milk is not the only source of calcium. you can do a search and find out there are many veggies that are a great source of calcium such as kale and spinach.
but for little kids that cannot take solid foods, i dont know, i guess a doctor’s opinion would be of more help.

my baby cousin doesn't like milk so my aunt gives him yogurt as a snack two or three times a day. she also mixes milk into his cereal, you know baby cereal thats usually made with water? she puts milk into it so he'll eat it.

and consult your doctor for sure :)

Lucky mom that he takes yogurt, my three year old is picky on eating, doesnt' like yogurt.
