when you are looking for work or changing work, how do age come into play? people in their 60s and 70s, how can work be made easy for them?

Generally, people in their 60s or 70s are in retirement age. I dont know how work can be made easy for them, they shouldnt be working. Everytime I see an older gentleman or lady at a grocery store pushing carts, I want to call up their kids and yell at them personally.
If you are young, you will have a leg up in most jobs. However, in some fields experience is more important so they younger guy/gal might lose. It just depends on the career you're in and how energetic/updated you are.

exactly the point of this thread that there must be a clear cut age line, after or at which, people should not have to work.
if they have a child, the child should take care of the elderly and aged.
energetic and updated, qualified, active, efficient, smart and experienced. can all be achievable in one person, if that person is able to handle all kinds of expected and unexpected on the job, challenges.

Why make them sit at home .......And make them feel that they have become an albatross for their own blood .
For us Men . I don’t think there should be an age after which they shouldn’t work ....
The nature of work should get changed ..... like let it be more social and easily done stuff .. Let them involve in community work .
But forcefully making them stay at home , sitting idle , doing nothing .. isn’t the right way of demonstrating the love your carry for them
At least I don’t want to sit at home and wait evey day for my death to embrace me ....

Yes, it does & very much. They did survey after the US elections and found that most people voted against McCain b/c of his age than against Obama b/c of his race.
