he forgot?!! ![]()
Re: Doctor's Hospital declared guilty
YES !! he actually gave that in written ! what an excuse ...
ofcourse it is a massive blunder. he admitted that he felt pavlon was given to restless patients but he forgot that those patients are supposed to be on a ventilator as well.
Thats what i was thinking as well on my jog, he thought just like ventilated patients become passive after the drug so will the girl.
The irony in whole thing is the drug shudn't even be called muscle relaxant, it shud be called paralyzer, coz thats what it does it paraysis the patient.
Use of these drugs s now obslete in ICUs, except in rare patient where one wants to manipulate airway pressure in hypoxemic pateints. No longer are these paralyzers used in ventilated patients anywhere now, the standard now is to give enough sedatives that patienst do not become agitatd or restless. Bcoz imagine you paralyze a person who is feeling pain, listening, seeing but can't even twitch.
Re: Doctor's Hospital declared guilty
This whole case is so sad.
it is a neuromuscular blocking drug that is used commonly to anesthetise (general anesthesia) a patient prior to surgery in conjunction with sedatives and painkillers. I have worked in ICU and even in extreme cases muscle relaxants are not used for patients on a vent. The guy was from some private med college in interior sindh and maybe he knew of that obsolete practice from his old knowledge ![]()
Re: Doctor's Hospital declared guilty
And the frickin private medical colleges, i hate why people are spending so much money and sendign their kids to these private colleges that churn out poor doctors.
