Doctor's Hospital declared guilty

Re: Doctor's Hospital declared guilty

I don't know details of this case, but seems like another case of nursing f'ing up and a doctor getting sued for it.

Docs write perscriptions. Ex. They write "Insulin X dosage X time period" etc. They will not write on their perscription "Please make sure to give them insulin that has been sitting out of a fridge for one year". Their job is not to walk into a pharmacy and say "hey, are all your meds needing refrigeration actually in a refrigerator?"

That is the job of ancillary staff (nursing, pharmacists, etc). Hospital and pharmacy office managers need to supervise this, and fix problems (like get a new fridge for the meds). The gov't is supposed to oversee compliance being met in these areas.

So, I don't understand why she didn't hold her ground. The lawsuit should have been against the hospital management.
