A 22 year old Fujian man who was left looking like Lord Voldemort after a traffic accident has had a new nose grown on his forehead by doctors at a Fuzhou hospital, Reuters reports.
Using a tissue expander on the man’s forehead, doctors “grew” a new nose by cutting the tissue and moulding cartilage taking from his ribs into the right shape. Doctors plan to complete the transplant soon. According to LiveScience, the operation, though dramatic in appearance, is actually quite routine:
[This] method is not that different from plastic surgery techniques used all the time, said Dr. David Cangello, an attending plastic surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan, Eye Ear and Throat Hospital in New York.“I would call it a different take on a principles that we commonly use in reconstruction,” Cangello said.
The forehead is useful for growing noses on because its tissue is similar to that of the nose. It is also enervated with blood vessels which nourish the tissue before and after it is transplanted. If doctors were to grow the nose on a leg or arm, this would require laborious microsurgery to transplant blood vessels to the nose area.

So, copying from these sites I guess they still have work to do.
Meaning: **The transplanted nose may be taken out from forehead and re-transplanted at its usual place.

Not so uncommon in these kinds of surgeries…if I am correct in my guess.

why not on the original place?
They are temporarily using the forehead as a sort of growing and maturing area for the constructed nose-shaped tissue. Then they will take it off and put it right later ...

^ It requires delicate surgery and time is of essence. If potential transplanted tissues are already dead, then it is not possible to implant them.
Advise: If any accident happens and part of body gets detached then save it, cool it and take it to nearest good hospital asap. (Don't leave the part or let it dry)
As much as possible keep it attached if partially detached. So it can have some blood supply.
