I like looking all put together at all times. I usually don't put much eye shadow on anyways but everything else is full on. So, I look the same wherever I go whether it's to a party or to work. Of course accessories and clothes obviously change drastically depending on whether it's work or an event. I put on makeup and look good for myself and not for anybody else so when I look in the mirror I feel awesome and the day starts off on a good self esteem note. As long as I feel good about myself that's all that matters and I love makeup.

I never used to but I’ve started wearing makeup to work since 2-3 months now. I actually started getting compliments so I kinda do it every day now. :halo:
I use kajal, eye liner, lipstick and a lil blush.
Other than work, If I’m going out.. I just bother to comb my hair and that’s about it.

In a year, probably at most there wl be 15 days when i wl wear makeup that too just lipgloss, eye pencil and mascara mostly...maybe 5/15 days wl have me wear a foundation.
i love makeup cuz if the colors but i dnt use it much.

I don't wear make up most days. I want to say its because I am a mom now and have a 1 year old who is a handful, but it's not. I'm just flippin lazy. I was like this even pre-baby. I never wore make up to work even (unless I knew there was a work event happening and I'd be photographed).
I don't wear make up at home, or to go to the mall. I only wear a tiny amount when meeting up with friends or relatives or even when going to parties (eye liner, mascara and dab of concealer under my eyes to hide the dark circles and maybe a thin layer of lipstick which I eat off anyway and always fail to reapply).
If it is a wedding that I have to attend and the person getting married is someone close to me (in immediate family) then I will get a make up artist to do party make up on me because I lack any sort of make up application skills.
It takes me at least 30 mins to do a simple face (eye liner, mascara, concealer, blush and lipstick). If I have to do eye shadow as well then it will literally take me 1 hour to do my face...and it still won't look anywhere close to what a professional can do.
sigh I wish I could wake up every morning snap my finger and have a full face painted on. I think I need to take some make up lessons or something from a professional...

If it's random errands I like going bareface, if it's to work I wear my foundation, blush and eye-liner (I love blush, I think I look really pale without the color on my cheeks.) For events, I take my time and go all out.

On a daily basis, I do not wear makeup...moisturizer, sunscreen and chapstick is all I want.
If I have to meet someone...I will pull out my blush, mascara, kajal and lipstick. I really am into cream blushes these days. Love them.
I pull out foundation when I have an event.

Daily/running errands I go bare face...only sunblock/moisturizer and chapstick
For work/meeting with clients.... bb cream/light eyeliner/mascara/lipgloss
Events/Parties.. I do full face makeup with foundation...full eye makeup etc

I don't wear makeup on daily basis. A lot of hard hard work goes behind the scenes to sport a bareface.
If I do wear makeup during day time, then it's just bit of mascara, blush and very light subtle lip colour. No base. I go for a 'no makeup' makeup look, always.
For evenings - red lips all the way. My ultimate accessory and dress up technique combined with good hair day (night). I always go for clean, crisp, fresh faced look with lots of mascara and pop of colour with hair either up or down.
Love to create au natural raw, fresh faced looks with minimal makeup.

If I'm out on errands, I like having a hint of color on my lips; I really like Burt's Bees' lip balm in Red Dahlia and Revlon's lip butter in Fig Jam...they provide a nice tint. Depending on my mood, occasionally eyeliner. And sometimes nothin on the eyes or lips; a bare face.

Usually only wear makeup to parties etc. However, rarely ever leave the house without eyeliner on.

Has anyone tried pure surmah...also called ithmid? Not the Desi stuff. The pure stuff which is said to be best found in the Middle East, Iran, Morocco. If so, do you think it makes your eyes look different or stand out more than regular eyeliner/kohl?
Please...no "Well I tried Hashmi surmah and ....Hashmi's got lead....Surmah is poison.etc etc." The real stuff is made out off a special stone which is powdered. Anyone have experience with that?

^I have a friend who uses it instead of eyeliner. She gets it from a cousin who lives in Dubai. Based on how it looks on her, I think it does look different from regular eyeliner. I think it gives more definition to the eye and is more pigmented than regular eyeliner/kohl, making the eye stand out more. I've also heard that wearing it on a daily basis, makes your eyelashes grow. I'm not sure if this is true, but I've heard it from a couple of people here and from a Middle Eastern friend of mine.

^Thank you, M. I really want yo buy the authentic ithmid and there are very few reviews online, so your response helps. Some interesting info that I came across was that the French had done research on the kohl used by ancient Egyptians and although it contained lead, it was found to have a beneficial effect on eyes/body...leading to the conclusion that within a certain limit the chemical may be a good thing. I found that interesting given the many times I've come across the Hashmi surma/lead scare and warnings.
