Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

if i watch,i watch with my sister. We were such cool movie buddies

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

The news channels are usually on when the entire family is sitting together, especially when dad is around. Not that he's strict about it but it just feels very odd to be watching dramas, movies, songs etc (no matter how much family-oriented they may be) when he's around. It's the same with the car radio when everyone is travelling together.

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

yup i do, … actually dad used to took us to cinema once in a month .. in Pakistan… jub hum chote hote thy :teary2:

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

u change the channel :chai:

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

The last time I watched a movie with my dad...there was a bad scene that flashed on screen. My dad leans over and says "chalo sab bachay apni ankhein band karlo"

I just wanted to die in that theater.

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

i watch movies with my family ... if there is an awkward scene, my father suddenly acts blind and in a matter of chaos tries to press the fwd button ... but somehow he ALWAYS manages to press the slow-motion one ... lol ... but movies that may have a high content of intimate scenes ... we just dont watch those.

but somehow it is sort of easier to deal with and make a joke of the hollywood movies with such scenes ... but not bollywood ones. i dont know why that is so though.

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

haha this kind a situation happened with me once too. .i was in Islamabad with dad at melody (burnt later) the movie was some james bond flick .. and then screen flashes and that scene came up... i took cell phone from dad and start playing with the menu's .. oh those were the longest 20 or 30 seconds or my life..

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

hahahahah.

The only times I went to the cinema as a kid was with my older cousin. The first time a 'scene' came along he covered our eyes with his hands (I was 12 and I was thinking WTF!). The next time I made sure I sat a couple of seats away from him. And he was the one telling me to pretend to be 14 at the ticket counter.

But yeah, I rarely watch movies with family. It's just uncomfortable. I feel more comfortable with friends.

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

We do watch shows/movies together (with my daughters and wife) but wife and I are pretty selective towards what we can watch in their presence. If we are not in mood of kids shows then we put some documentary or cooking show or HGTV, something that is ok to watch in their presence.

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

No we dont - we have different set of preferences ...

Cricket/other sports - yea i do watch it with my kid bruv or cousins ...

Movies - With friends and cousins ...

News channels are always on while having dinner with family in evening - So if i watch something with them - these news channels !

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

hubby prefers news and sports channel and sometimes he watches bollywood movies
kids watch bollywood movies
and i watch hollywood movies
so when altogether the news channel is on or in the morning the boring silly morning shows....

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

so you peeps also sharing your embarrassing moments.

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

*i watch very lil TV/movies. i do watch Bollywood movies with family [rarely and family type]. iwatch news/views/reviews/documentaries/mystery shows by myself. *

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

We (me,wife and kids) watch selected movies together. 90% of the times these are actually kids movies like Toy Story, Tangled etc. Kids are not allowed to be in living room if me and wife are watching any movie (aaah once in a month) or any Drama.

There is no question of watching movie with sister or parents. Indian and English movies most have rated scenes and even Dramas are also on pretty bold (but important topics). I still miss the old days of PTV when we all used to sit together and watch the TV without any such reservations.

Re: do you watch movies/TV with your family?

movies-usually no (unless its an ok/family movie)

tv (drama/programs) usually yes unless its not family type etc.....that Ptv/Stn era was fantastic where we used to watch all the dramas together but some pakistani dramas are quite an exception now therefore watching them with family doesnot feel comfy.
