Hi. I would like hear from other parents who use online skype service to tutor their child’s quran. It’s something I have considered for a while…as im no longer able to travel back and forth.
Are there any recommendations that can be made? I see several websites online but would like the experience off fellow guppies before I commit.
Any negative experiences or things I need to be cautious off. Thanks. What age did your child start. How has their progress been?

I use Fehmul Quran . Very good services. They are very organized as well. My kids were 5 when they started the quran. They have English speaking teachers too ( enough English to get by) for kids who don't speak good enough Urdu or much at all.

We use a private teacher from Lahore. We are in USA. He is very diligent, and kids love him. Its been more than 2 years now, and its all a good experience

I grew up in the U.S and was taught Quran and even reading some urdu through an online, skype tutor. I highly recommend it. It is usually fairly convenient and not too different from what you would learn if taught in person.

Yes , and with good tajweed!

i know two parents who are using them here in Texas.. They love it . They have a set schedule, the mothers seat with the kids to make sure the lessons were going well (one other said she is improving her own tajweed as well.) They also do tests to make sure the kids are learning well.

Even though my kids love my extended family, their dadi, tayajan, phuphos, mamoons etc, but they squeal at the sight of having to sit on skype and talk to them. So I was just wondering, how on earth do you guys make your kids sit through a tutoring lesson?
