Let alone the kids, the maids are big time fans of these dramas. A maid at my neigbours did not listen to a word while she was watching the dramas, she paid no attention to any one, did not do any work, was basically a freak when it came to dramas! A month later it was found she was pregnant and there were pregnancy strips in her quarter. I think the minds do get effected, she was a young girl who overly fancied these dramas and ended up being part of one at her own home.

LOL. And yes the maids do love watching these dramas at my house too. I think they're popular because these dramas are so dumbed down.
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
I don't watch drama's but met a girl a couple months ago who was so sure her MIL and SIL's would torture her and be horrible to her for NO reason, not only that in the middle of a conversation she'd throw-in proper dialogues '''jazbaat, ehsaas, meri wafai'n, meri qadder.." ugh! Oh yeah.. she didn't see 'khwaab' or dreams.. she'd get 'sapnay' :@:
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
My little cousin came up to my mamoo and asked him "where is your patni" (hindi for wife)? All of us were shocked how starplus dramas were effecting our younger generation.

Maybe because alot of drama do feature girls who come from poor backgrounds/are maids but then end up in love with the rich guy....(or rather he falls in love with them) so thats why they like it? seeing as how the cycle of poverty is a tough one to break can't blame a girl for dreaming.
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
wow.. the vdo, poor kid.. and the parents let him do that??
It may have some sort of negative impact, especially in younger ages. But disappears i think with experience in life and as you get mature. or i hope it is so lol otherwise there will be many unhappy stories
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
If there are really people out there whose minds are being affected by Star Plus NONSENSE they really ought to seek Medical help.
Nutters!!

Yeah maybe, since every star plus khandaani story involves at least one case of rich guy running away with poor girl or vice versa. lol.
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
only immature minds get influenced by what they see on TV. period!
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
I think it the other way around. The writers pickup their materials and plots from real life and turn it into a soap. So it is the real life which influences the soaps.
So paki boys and girls with their hamnavas run around like hejras in the fields ? ;)
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
The worse part is that why are our "independent free & fair media" picking up this garbage? See, you can't blame the "govt" for it anymore....

Talk about it, my aunty asked her son "Have you done the homework?" He said "yes i have" and then she said "you were playing sega, I didnt see you doing home work" and he replied "Mama! ek toh ap mera **wishwas* nahi karteen hain"*
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
The kids do get affected by anything that goes on around them. I'd wouldn't even let my kids watch the drama's it up to the parents on what they let the kids watch. The tv is not a Baby Sitter.

Our media is hardly all that independent, free or fair.
They pick up all this nonsense because the useless government have no problem with it.
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
Seriously, the same govt that is made a fool of in the same media?
Regardless, cable companies and channels make a fuss if govt intervened that their bottom line is hurting. There is something called editorial judgement in newspapers, though I wonder if we would call it broadcast judgement in tv, that is practiced in the west. I don't know if our media still shows it but recently there has been some awareness that dead bodies and cut up body parts shouldn't be show on prime time.
Re: Do you think TV dramas effect your behaviour & life?
They've always shown cut up dead bodies in newspapers because they're absolutely clueless and have no morals or no respect for anyone.
I don't know how often you read Pakistani newspapers like 'Jang' or 'Nawaiwaqt', admittedly I don't, but I've got family members who've been reading the rags for decades, and they certainly aint as 'free' or 'independent' as you're trying to make out. They're all aligned to one party or the other and basically mug each other off. You could say the same about papers in the west, some seem to report and promote a lot of far right or left agendas, but they're a lot lot more balanced than any Pakistani newspapers which are just a complete joke.
